As a group, we have decided to create a robotic arm using Arduino. No not the one Bucky has from The Winter Soldier but a literal miniature standalone one. Our objective will be to have it perform small tasks, controlled through Bluetooth.
Our first meeting was short and sweet, handing out roles then subdividing tasks. We have decided to think S.M.A.R.T so for our first lab this Friday, our main focus is to become familiar with the equipment and also complete assigned tasks. These include; designing a frame size with the servo in mind, not coding itself but planning and writing pseudo code, designing the circuit for the Arduino then learning how to use solid works so we can 3D print in future.
Additionally, Miguel invited me to attend a meeting at Sensor City with the Coding and Robotics club at the University of Liverpool. Sensor city is a start up hub aimed at Electronic engineers, entrepreneurs and business support on an international level. This was particularly helpful since we can be taught how to use their own 3D printers and use the facilities on offer.
Its early days but with planning, commitment and communication, we can
pull this project off.
